(2)A certificate of Second Class shall qualify the holder thereof to be in charge of a single boiler with steam pipes of any kind, the heating surface of which does not exceed 1,500 square feet. A Second Class boiler attendant may, however, attend to a battery of boilers consisting of not more than three connected boilers and not exceeding 1,500 square feet in aggregate of total heating surface provided he is assisted by such number of firemen as are considered necessary by the Chief Inspector.
