- Once in every quarter not less than two officials and one nonofficial visitors, of which one unless prevented by unavoidable cause, shall be the District Magistrate, shall constitute a Board and visit the jail of which they are visitors. The District Magistrate shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the Board. The Board shall meet at the jail on such days as the District Magistrate may determine, and will inspect all buildings and prisons, hear any complaints and petitions that may be preferred, inspect the prisoners' food and see that it is of good quality and properly cooked, inspect the punishment book and satisfy themselves that it is kept upto date.
