Section 2(1) in Uttaranchal State Haj Committee Rules, 2002
(1)The State Government will constitute a State Haj Committee (hereinafter called the "Committee") which include the members nominated by State Government and nominated from Muslim Members of the State Legislative Assembly, local Administrative Bodies, Social Workers and other prominent persons who have special knowledge of pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia (Mecca, Madina) Iran and Iraq. Such members be acquainted with all the matters regarding Haj. The members of the Central Haj Committee, if any and who have been nominated from this State will be included in the Committee as ex officio members. In accordance with the discretion of the State Government not exceeding two persons other than Muslims may also be nominated in the Committee. The Committee will be headed by Minister of Social Welfare Government of Uttaranchal. The Secretary Social Welfare will hold the charge of the Secretary, State Haj Committee.
