Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned list of candidates published on 07.11.2017 by the second respondent, called for certificate verification to be held from 23.11.2017 till 25.11.2017 or on any other date relating to direct recruitment of Lecturers (Engineering/Non-Engineering) in Government Polytechnic Colleges for the year 2017-2018, so far as Mathematics subject under Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) category and quash the same in so far as the petitioner is concerned, consequently direct the second respondent to call for the candidates, who have passed all the courses viz., SSLC, H.S.C., U.G. Degree and P.G.Degree in Tamil medium under the said category, including the petitioner for certificate verification and proceed with the selection based such new list, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

The grievance of the petitioner is that he has not been called for the certificate verification by the second respondent under the Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) category for direct recruitment to the post of Lecturer (Non-Engineering) in Government Polytechnic Colleges, even though he has passed the Master's Degree in Mathematics with First Class in Tamil medium.

3. The Master of Science in Mathematics Degree issued by the Tamil University, Thanjavur dated 19.8.2016 to the petitioner clearly shows that the petitioner has passed the Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics with first class in Tamil medium. Therefore, he is eligible to take part in the certificate verification, as per paragraph 3B(ii) of the aforesaid notification. Hence, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to permit the petitioner to take part in the certificate verification on production of a copy of this order. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.32710 to 32712 of 2017 are closed. No costs.
