Section 4B in The Meghalaya Maintenance Of Public Order Act, 1947

4B. Constitution of Advisory Council

(1)The State Government, wherever necessary, shall constitute an advisory Council consisting of not less than three members, one of whom shall be person qualified to be a Judge of High Court and he shall be its Chairman.
(2)The Advisory Council shall, after considering the material placed before it and if necessary, after calling for such further information from the State Government or from the person concerned as it may deem necessary, submit its report to the State Government before the expiry of four months from the date of order made under sub-section (1) of section 2.
(3)After considering the report of the Advisory Council, the State Government may confirm modify or cancel the order made under sub-section (1) of the section 2.
(4)The Chairman and the members of the Advisory Council shall for the purpose of this Act be deemed to be holding office within the meaning of sub-section (6) of section 2 of the Indian Official Secret Act, 1923.
