(oral) The petitioner while working as Inspector in the office of Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Muktsar was admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali on account of heart ailment on 3rd December, 2003. After his release, the petitioner suffered heart attack and was admitted to D.M.C. Heart Institute, Ludhiana where he received treatment from 5th December, 2003 to 13th December, 2003 and then 20th December, 2003 to 19th January, 2004. The petitioner had submitted medical bills for reimbursement. It is the case of the petitioner that the amount as claimed by him has not been reimbursed.
Reply has been filed on behalf of the respondents wherein it has been averred that the petitioner has been paid a sum of Rs.86,190/- and another sum of Rs.7000/- as medical reimbursement. CWP No.15340 of 2007 2
Learned counsel for the respondents submits that all the payments have been made to the petitioner at the AIIMS/PGI rates and nothing more is to be paid to him.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has referred to the instructions of the Punjab Government according to which medical bills are to be paid at the AIIMS rate.
After going through the pleadings of the parties, we are of the considered opinion that petitioner has been reimbursed for medical expenses incurred by him on his treatment of heart ailment. Payments have been made to him as per Instructions of the Punjab Government dated 13th February, 1995.
There is no merit in the writ petition and the same is dismissed.
