Respondent(s) O R D E R Pursuant to a letter dated 20th January, 2017, Presiding Officer of the Industrial Tribunal and Labour Court, Panaji, Goa prayed as follows:-
“It is, therefore, taking into consideration the nature of the dispute in both the matters, I may be granted extension of time to dispose of the complaint bearing No. C-IT/4/98 till 30 th April, 2017. Similarly, I may also be granted extension of time to dispose of the reference bearing No. IT/33/97 till 30th November, 2017. The matters would be taken up on priority basis and every effort would be made to dispose of the said matters as early as possible within time frame.” In view of the fact that the original Order of this Court is dated 7.3.2013 directing the Tribunal to dispose of the reference bearing No. C-IT//98 and IT/33/97 in not later than six months from the date of production of the Order dated 7.3.2013 and in view of the subsequent orders granting extension from time to time, we called upon the Registrar General of the Bombay High Court to examine the matter and place a report explaining the inordinate delay in response to the above-mentioned reference. The Registrar General, by his report dated 17.3.2017, explained the reasons which caused delay in disposing of the above-mentioned reference.-2-
Perused the report.
In view of the contents of the report, we deem it appropriate to extend the time till 31st December, 2017 to comply with the Order dated 7.3.2013 passed by this Court in Civil Appeal No. 1007 of 2004, as modified from time to time, by subsequent orders of this Court.
