ORDER
Facts:
1. The appellant filed RTI application dated nil seeking information regarding name, parentage and address of persons who have been issued passports successfully under CID-CIK verification since 1990 as well as of the persons whose passports have been rejected because of their link with the militancy or their involvement in any unlawful activities under CID-CIK verification.
2. The CPIO responded on 31.08.2015. The first appeal is not on record. The FAA responded on 23.10.2015. The appellant filed second appeal on 19.04.2016 before the Commission on the ground that information should be provided to him.
Hearing:
3. The appellant did not participate in the hearing. The respondent participated in the hearing through counsel in person.
4. The respondent stated that they have replied to the appellant that the sought for information with regard to name, parentage and address of the persons attract Sections 8(1)(g) and 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act, therefore, they have denied this information.1
5. The respondent further stated that a statistical data regarding refusal of 37 passport applications has been given to the appellant on 24.08.2015. Discussion/ observation:
6. The action/steps taken by the respondent in dealing with the RTI application is satisfactory.
Decision:
7. No further intervention of the Commission is required in the matter.
The appeal is disposed of. Copy of the order be given to the parties free of cost.
