Section 673 in Punjab Jail Manual

673. Hours of rest from labour to vary with the season.

- No convict who is under sentence of rigorous imprisonment, or who is employed on labour at his own desire, shall be required to work -
(a)if a member of a convalescent or special gang - between the hours of 12 noon and 2 p.m. throughout the year;
(b)if not a member of a convalescent or special gang - between the hours of 12 noon and 2 p.m. from the 15th of April to the fifteenth of September (both days inclusive).
Prisoners employed in the Lahore Central Jail Press, however, will observe the following hours :-
  15th April to 31st May 1st June to 15th August 16th August to 15th September 16th September to 14th April
Working hours 6.30 A.M. to 2.30 P.M. 6 A.M. to 2 P.M. 6.30 A.M. to 2.30 P.M. 8 A.M. to 4.30 P.M.
Recess 1/2 hour (11 to 11.30 A.M.) 1/2 hour (10.30 to 11 A.M.) 1/2 hour (11 to 11.30 A.M.) 1 hour (12 Noon to 1 P.M.)
