Section 6(1) in Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority Act, 1985
(1)Subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder and any direction which the State Government may give from time to time, the functions of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority shall be to promote and secure the development of the Guwahati metropolitan Area according to the Master Plan.
