8. Withholding of increments.
- The State Government may withhold, for such time as it may direct, an increment due to any direct recruit appointed to the Indian Police Service, who fails to pass the departmental examination or examinations within such time as the State Government may by general or special order, prescribe, but the withholding of such increments shall have no cumulative effect.
