- The accommodation of a class-room depends not merely on its area but also on the lighting, the shape of the room, the furniture and the position of the doors. For Secondary schools 10 to 12 square feet for each pupil and 100 to 120 cubic feet are sufficient; for primary schools 8 to 10 square feet and 80 to 100 cubic feet.
