The petitioners seek a mandamus to direct the respondents to grant the benefit of the Assured Career Progression Scheme and promote them to the higher grade from the due date. The petitioners' case is that they are fully eligible for the grant of ACP as they have worked for more than 10 years as Assistant Lecturers and have still got any promotion. In this regard, the petitioners are said to have represented the authorities on 15.5.2008 and 7.10.2008 (Annexure P-1 to P-3 respectively) but without any response.
Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and considering the nature of relief sought in this writ petition, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the same with a direction to respondent Nos.1 & C.W.P.No.7463 of 2010 2 2 to consider the claim of the petitioners for granting them ACP from the due date and if they are found suitable and eligible, grant them the same in accordance with the Government Rules/Policy with consequential benefits, within a period of four months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order.
Ordered accordingly.
