By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner would state that he belongs to Scheduled Caste Community and has completed X Standard; but, on account of poor economical background, he was not in a position to pursue further studies and joined the services of a Private Transport Corporation and worked there for a very meagre income. It is further stated by the petitioner that the second respondent-corporation issued an advertisement calling for applications through Employment Exchange, for the post of Conductors and Drivers during the year 2005, and the petitioner has also applied and was called for certificate verification on 12.12.2005, and he furnished all the particulars.
3.It is the claim of the petitioner that though he has fulfilled all the necessary requirements, he was not called for the interview and once again, applications were called for to fill up the post of Conductors and Drivers during the year 2008, and once again, he has submitted his application and was also called for certificate verification on 1.2.2008, and he has furnished all the details and a similar exercise was also done during the year 2010, and the petitioner has once again, participated and thereafter, a selection list of 138 Drivers was published and the petitioner's name was found in Serial No.17, but was not issued with the appointment order.
4.The petitioner would further state that some of them had approached this Court by filing W.P.No.30640 of 2013 challenging the order of recruitment and for age relaxation, and the second respondent has recently recruited 300 Drivers and 300 Conductors and however, this time, the name of the petitioner has been omitted and in this regard, he has submitted a representation dated 24.8.2015, to the respondents seeking appointment as Driver and since no response is forthcoming, came forward to file this writ petition.
5.Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.A.Tamilvanan, learned Government Advocate (Pondy), who accepted notice on behalf of the first respondent, and Mr.A.R.Nixon, learned Standing Counsel, who accepted notice on behalf of the second respondent.
6.This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.8.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders thereon within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
