Section 3 in Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1983
3. Establishment of the Institute.
(1)With effect from such date, as the State Government may notify in this behalf, there shall be established at Lucknow an Institute of Medical Sciences, to be known as the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow.(2)The Institute shall be a body corporate and shall function as a University established under a State Act.
