Section 105 in Bihar Board's Miscellaneous Rules, 1958

105. Hours of attendance.

- The hours during which a magisterial and revenue officer is expected to be present in his office for the despatch of business are from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless with the sanction of the Commissioner some other hours are fixed. When offices are held in the morning, the exact dates being settled in consultation with the heads of other offices or court in the station, the hours of attendance should be from 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. leaving it open to the head of the office to require attendance after 11.30 a.m. until the day's work is finished or for an hour or two later in the day, according to the general convenience of the staff.District Officers at district headquarters and Sub-Divisional Officers at Mufassil Sub-Divisions are responsible for seeing that the gazetted officers subordinate to them attend court punctually, and should make surprise visit to the courts concerned occasionally to enforce this. At headquarters this may also be done by the Additional District Magistrate, where there is one, or by the Senior Deputy Collector.The following procedure regarding the attendance of clerks in offices should also be strictly followed :-The attendance register for the clerks of the office should be placed before the gazetted officer-in-charge of the office within 10 minutes of the time fixed for its opening. He will mark all clerks who have not signed the attendance register by then and will keep a monthly record of the number of days in each month for which each particular clerk has been late in office. Where it is found from this record that a clerk is late in attending office on more than three days in any one month, without good reason, a remark to this effect should be entered in his character roll.
