Facts:­ 

1. The applicant submitted RTI application dated 13  August   2010   before   the   CPIO,   the   Oriental   Insurance  Company   Limited,   Chennai   information   pertaining   to  policy   no   413506/47/2009/603   along   with   photocopies  of   all   pages   of   the   company's   file   pertaining   to  claim dated 11 January 2010.

2. Vide   CPIO   order   dated   9   September   2010,  appellant was asked to deposit the prescribed fee of  Rs. 40 for obtaining the requested documents. 

3. Appellant   preferred   appeal   dated   12   November  2010 before the first appellate authority.

4. Matter   was   decided   vide   FAA   order   dated   2  December 2010.

5. Appellant   preferred   second   appeal   before   the  Commission. 

6. Matter   was   heard   today   through  videoconferencing.   Appellant   was   present   at  Thiruvannamalai.   Respondent   was   present   as   above   at  Chennai.   Respondent   stated   that   the   document   sought  by the appellant had already been provided to him and     Appeal : No. CIC/DS/A/2011/000602  2 that his second appeal was not covered under the RTI  Act but was in the nature of grievance.

7. Commission   has   heard   both   parties   and   observes  that   in   the   second   appeal   before   the   Commission   the  appellant seeks to know whether any decision has been  taken  but  Insurance  Company  . Accordingly  respondent  is   directed   to   give   him   the   current   status   of   his  claims case. Appellant is free to take up the matter  of   his   grievance   through   the   appropriate   grievance  redressal   mechanism.   The   address   etc   has   been  provided   to   the   appellant   by   the   respondent   at   the  hearing. 

8. Information   as   above   to   be   provided   within   two  weeks of receipt of the order.
