2. Learned counsel for the State would submit that there is a remedy available to the petitioner to file an application seeking cancellation of patta, on such grounds as may be available under law.
3. We are also of the view that the petitioner ought to have approached the competent authority seeking cancellation of patta, on such grounds as may be available to the petitioner under law.
4. With liberty as aforesaid, the writ petition is dismissed.
There shall be no order as to costs.

ORDER (Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) As per office note, in our order dated 25.10.2025 passed by us, a typographical error has crept in, as the name of respondent No.17 has been wrongly recorded as “ Sathya, W/o.Pachayappan”, whereas as per the record, the name of the 17 th respondent is “Kanniyammal, W/o.Pachayappan”.
Accordingly, the order dated 25.10.2025 be corrected, so as to substitute the name of 17th respondent as “Kanniyammal, W/o.Pachayappan” and fresh copy be issued.
