IN THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
CRIMINAL APPELLATE JURISDICTION
CRIMINAL APPEAL NO. 1164 OF 2011
(@ SPECIAL LEAVE PETITION(CRL.)NO.2154 OF 2011)
GURMEET SINGH ... APPELLANT
VERSUS
STATE OF PUNJAB ... RESPONDENT
O R D E R
Leave granted.
We have heard the learned counsel for the parties.
Learned counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant has already paid the fine imposed by the trial Court.
In the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, in our considered view, ends of justice would meet if the appellant's sentence is reduced from two years R.I. to nine months R.I. We order accordingly.
With this modification in the order of sentence, this appeal is disposed of.
