Section 43(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) Rules, 1969
(1)Every fire detection system fitted in complianced these rules shall be capable of automatically indicating the presence or indication of fire and its location. The indicators shall be centralised either on the navigating bridge or at other control stations which are provided with direct communication with the navigating bridge :Provided that the Central Government may in any ship permit the indicators to be distributed among several stations if they are satisfied that such arrangements are at least as effective as if the indicators were so centralised.
