Section 490(1) in The Orissa Municipal Corporation Act, 2003
(1)All tenable settlements on private land shall be made by way of acquisition of land unless the Corporation decides to pass a resolution otherwise and such land acquisition process shall be completed within a maximum period of twelve calendar months from the date of initiating the process.
