Section 17(d) in The Chennai City Corporation Building Rules, 1972
(d)Kitchen. - Every kitchen shall have a clear superficial area of not less than -(i)three and three fourths square metres in the case of tenements with a single room;(ii)five and six tenths square metres in the case of tenements with two or more rooms.
