The way it was told to me, it was not individual. … I represent certain people, therefore, I just reacted in a little different way. I should not have done it. I would like to thank you because you are making new milestones in the working of Lok Sabha, and also allowing each and every Member to place his or her matters. During my first term, in 15th Lok Sabha, it took one year for me to speak for the first time. But this time, you have given me a third opportunity to speak during Zero Hour. I would like to thank you for that.
Now, I come to the main topic about South Tamil Nadu’s industrial backwardness. South Tamil Nadu has nine districts among which two districts are aspirational districts. The Madurai-Thoothukudi industrial corridor, which was announced in 2013, is still at announcement stage. Till now, no construction work has been started. Therefore, I would request the Minister of Commerce and Industry as well as the Government to look into this matter. Even after six years of announcement, nothing has happened. Justice has to be done for the people of South Tamil Nadu. I hope that the Government would start some kind of work on Madurai-Thoothukudi industrial corridor. Thank you so much.
