Section 5(a) in The Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000
(a)Pre-sea medical examination: This medical examination is conducted before a person embarks upon a seafaring career and includes Pre-sea Eye Test as per the standards of physical fitness specified in Annexure-I and standards of Eye Sight standards specified in Annexure-II.
