Section 6(xvii) in The Manipur University Act, 1980
(xvii)to receive grants from the Government and donations from private individuals or associations for specific or general purpose ; to acquire, hold, manage and dispose of any property, movable or immovable including trust or endowed property within or outside the State of Manipur, for the purposes or objects of the University, and to invest funds in such manner as the University thinks fit ;
