Order 24/04/2017 Precisely, the grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that the appeal preferred by her before the Appellate Tribunal under the provisions of Section 16 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, on 24.2.14 is not being heard and disposed of whereas as per mandate of sub-section (6) of Section 16, the Appellate Tribunal is under an (2 of 2) [CW-3978/2017] obligation to make an endeavour to decide the appeal within a period of one month.

Keeping in view the statutory mandate, the Appellate Tribunal is expected to decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner expeditiously.

The writ petition is disposed of with the observation as above.
