Section 13(viii) in The U.P. (Regulation Of Building Operations) Directions, 1960
(viii)Set back of buildings. - In existing built-up areas, of a building or part thereof is to be erected on a site, abutting a street less than 12 feet in width, the owner of the site shall be required to leave unbuilt such portion of the site as falls within 6 feet from the centre of the street. He shall also be required to provide a further set back of at least 4 feet width in front of the building or part thereof, which is proposed to be erected.
