(34)"proper officer", in relation to any functions to be performed under this Act, means the officer of customs who is assigned those functions by the Board or the [Commissioner of Customs] [ Substituted by Act 22 of 1995, Section 50, for " Collector of Customs" (w.e.f. 26.5.1995).];
