Section 9(2)(b) in Tamil Nadu Preservation of Private Forests Rules, 1946

(b)The felling shall be effected at a height not exceeding 0.15 metres from the ground if the girth of the tree at breast height is below 0.91 metre and the bank shall be left intact on the stump, but shall be cut smooth and clean and adhering to the stump all round.
