262. Officers ordinarily exempt from being searched.
(1)All officials and non-official visitors, casual visitors admitted by order of the Superintendent, Inspector General or District Magistrate as well as the higher officials of the jail, shall ordinarily be exempt from being searched.(2)Should the gate-keeper have reason to suspect that any officer ordinarily exempted from search, is introducing or removing prohibited articles, he may detain the person between the gates and send notice to the Deputy Superintendent, who shall himself search the person. A copy of this order shall be hung up in the passage between the main gates for general information.
