- The General Council shall have the following powers and functions, namely:-(1)to approve and endorse the University's strategic plan, calendar, and monitor the University's performance periodically;(2)to prepare and submit annual report to the State Government on the affairs of the University generally, and in particular on management of the University's resources;(3)to determine the academic awards, degrees, diplomas, certificates, concessions of fee, awards of Fellowships and Studentships to be offered by the University in consultation with the Academic Council; and(4)to exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be necessary for the efficient functioning of the University.
