Section 13 in The Presidency Small Cause Courts Act, 1882

13. [ Appointment of Registrar and other officers. [[Section 13 substituted by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937, which was earlier as under :-

'13. Appointment of Registrar and ministerial officers. Powers and duties of such officers. - The Local Government may, from time to time, appoint an officer to be called the Registrar of the Court, and to be the chief ministerial officer of the Court;and the Chief Judge may, from time to time, subject to the control of the Local Government, appoint as many clerks, bailiffs and other ministerial officers as may be necessary for administration of justice by the Court, and for the exercise and performance of the powers and duties conferred and imposed on it by this Act or any other law for the time being in force.The Registrar and other officers so appointed shall exercise such powers, and discharge such duties, of a ministerial nature, as the Chief Judge may, from time to time, by rule, direct.The Chief Judge may suspend or remove any Registrar or other officer so appointed; but the removal of any Registrar or officer drawing a monthly salary of one hundred rupees or upwards shall be subject to the orders of the Local Government.'.]]- There shall be appointed an officer to be called the Registrar of the Court who shall be the chief ministerial officer of the Court; there shall also be appointed a Deputy Registrar and as many clerks, bailiffs and other ministerial officers as may be necessary for the administration of justice by the Court and for the exercise and performance of the powers and duties conferred and imposed on it by this Act or any other law for the time being in force.The Registrar and other officers so appointed shall exercise such powers and discharge such duties, of ministerial nature, as the Chief Judge may, from time to time, by rule direct.]
