Section 88(2) in The Registration Act, 1977 (1920 A.D.)
(2)Where any instrument is so executed, the registering officer to whom such instruments is presented for registration may, if he thinks fit, refer to such officer of the Government, Official Trustee, Official Assignee, Receiver or Registrar, as the case may be, for information respecting the same, and, on being satisfied of the execution thereof, shall register the instrument.
