Section 2(ix) in Bihar Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2003
(ix)"Research work" means any work done for beneficiation and upgradation of the mineral and for examining its suitability for utilisation in the industry, for the purpose of scientific study without any commercial motive.
