(1)Subject to the provisions of sub-rule (2), a Superintendent shall not leave the headquarters or hand over the charge of the prison to any person for a period exceeding twenty-four hours without having obtained the previous sanction of the Inspector General who may permit him to hand over the charge of his duties to the Assistant Superintendent or to the senior most member of the executive staff.
