Section 5(2) in The Statutes of the Punjabi University
(2)If there is no University Professor or Reader in the Faculty, the Principal of the College, admitted to the privileges of the University, in the Faculty, shall be the Dean of the Faculty.Provided that, if there is more than one such College in the Faculty, the Principals of the Colleges who are member of Faculty shall hold the office of the Dean of the Faculty by rotation according to seniority.Provided further that, if there is no Principal of a College as member of the Faculty, the Faculty shall elect its own Dean.
