Section 25(2) in The Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya Act, 2000
(2)The Vice-Chancellor shall be the whole-time officer of the University, shall hold office for a period of four years, and shall be eligible for reappointment for a further period of four years.Provided that no person shall hold the office of the Vice-Chancellor for more than eight years in aggregate :Provided further that the Vice-Chancellor shall retire from office if, during the term of his office including the term of re-appointment, he attains the age of 65 years :Provided also that the Vice-Chancellor may, by writing under his hand addressed to the Chancellor and after two months, notice, resign his office.
