Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 20.04.2018 and conduct an inquiry.

The petitioner has given a representation dated 20.04.2018, to the authorities alleging that one VijayAnand (4th respondent) is constructing a Rice Mill beneath High Tension Wire by taking river sand from Malayampatti lake illegally. Thereafter the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the above prayer.
2. In the opinon of this Court, a mandamus can be issued only for the enforecement of a statutory right. In this case, even according to the petitioner, on his complaint, F.I.R. in Crime No.54 of 2018 has been registered by the police. Thus, there appears to be some ulterior motive for the petitioner against the fourth respondent. Hence, no mandamus can be issued.
3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
