Penalty for setting up wharves, quays, etc., without permission .-Any person who contravenes the provisions of section 46 shall be punishable with fine which may extend to [ten thousand rupees] for the first contravention and with a further fine which may extend to [one thousand rupees] [Substituted by Act 17 of 1982, Section 17, for " one thousand rupees" and " one hundred rupees" , respectively (w.e.f. 31.5.1982). ] for every day after the first during which the contravention continues.
