Appellant : Shri A Sethu

Public Authority : Income Tax Department, Chennai
                               (through Shri Sivajyothi, DDIT
                               (Exemption)

Date of Hearing : 1.6.2010

Date of Decision : 1.6.2010

FACTS :

The matter is called for hearing today dated 1.6.2010. Appellant not present. The public authority is represented by the officer named above. It is noticed that vide RTI application dated 19.3.2009, the appellant had sought information on 13 points regarding 'Exnora International'. Besides, he had also sought information on 06 points regarding an organisation called 5th Pillar.

2. It is also noticed that the CPIO had disposed of this matter vide order dated 24.4.2009.

3. During the hearing, Shri Sivajyothi would submit that the appellant has filed multiple applications for information regarding Exnora International and in response thereto, huge information, including Balance Sheets, Income & Expenditure account etc, have already been provided to the appellant. He would, however, candidly admit that the present RTI application has not been addressed parawise but that really does not make any difference in as much most of the points raised by the applicant in the present RTI application have already been addressed by him in response to the earlier RTI applications. He would also fairly submit that if the appellant wishes to seek any additional information, he is at liberty to approach him any time and he would respond to it positively.

4. When queried as to whether proper response have been provided about the queries raised about the 5th Pillar, Shri Sivajyothi would submit that this matter concerns another CPIO and he is not concerned with it.

DECISION

5. From the aforesaid discussion, it appears to us that the CPIO has been forth right in responding to the informational requirements of the appellant. If the appellant wishes to seek any additional information, he is at liberty to move Shri Sivajyothi in regard to Exnora International and the concerned CPIO in regard to 5th Pillar. In view of this, the Commission need not pass any orders. The matter is closed at the Commission's end.
