Section 31 in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
31. The Director of Student Welfare.
(1)The Director of Student Welfare shall be whole-time officer and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board.(2)The Director of Student Welfare shall have the following duties, namely :(a)to make arrangements of housing of students ;(b)to arrange programme of student's counselling ;(c)to arrange for the employment of students in accordance with the plans approved by the Vice-Chancellor ;(d)to supervise the extra-curricular activities and look after the general needs of the students ;(e)to assist in the placement of the graduates of the University ; and(f)to perform such other duties a may be assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.
