Regarding Inclusion Of Gangamath And Its Synonymous Caste Which Is Known As Koli ... on 20 September, 2020
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding inclusion of Gangamath and its synonymous caste which is known as Koli in the ST list of Karnataka.
DR. UMESH G. JADHAV (GULBARGA): Sir, I thank you for allowing me to speak during ‘Zero Hour’.
Sir, I had asked Unstarred Question No. 1299 from the Minister of Tribal Affairs regarding status of inclusion of Gangamath and its synonymous caste which is also known as Koli in the ST list. I have received the reply but it is partially satisfactory. The reply is that the matter regarding inclusion of Koli samaj in the ST list is under consideration. It is a long pending request. I would request that they should be included immediately. This community is educationally, socially, and economically very backward.
Recently, a community called Talwar community has been included in the list of ST. In my constituency, Gulbarga, Karnataka, this certificate is not being given, but in other parts of Karnataka, they are giving them certificate. So, there is a little bit confusion. I would request you to give direction to respective Departments for clearing the confusion and issue the certificates.
