Section 97(10) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2017
(10)Adequate arrangement shall be provided in the belt conveyor to ensure that it gets automatically stopped,-(a)in case of excessive friction between the belt and the drum, roller, scrapper, deflectors, guides or any other obstruction caused either due to spillage or otherwise;(b)in case of breakage of the belt; and(c)in case of fire or heating in the belt conveyor or in the vicinity thereof.
