Section 73 in The M.P. Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 1972

73. Tanks.

- In every permanent or quasi-permanent cinema there shall be provided on the top of the proscenium wall or in some other place to be approved by the Executive Engineer/Sub-Divisional Officer concerned two cisterns (connected with fire service in the cinema) which shall be kept always filled with water. Each of the cisterns shall be capable of containing at least 250 gallons of water for every 100 individuals of the public to be accommodated in the cinema. These cisterns shall be fitted with an outside indicator suitably placed so as to show clearly the depth of water therein and the water shall be kept clean and free from sediment and covered over with properly fitting covers so as to be mosquito proof. The cisterns shall be cleaned once every year :Provided that nothing in this rule shall apply to touring cinemas and to premises duly licensed for use of cinematograph exhibition before the coming into force of these rules if such premises are situated in places where there is sufficient municipal water supply which can be used for the purpose of extinguishing fire.
