Section 1 in The Tobacco Board Act, 1975

1. Short title, extent and commencement.

(1)This Act may be called the Tobacco Board Act, 1975.
(2)It extends to the whole of India.
(3)It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint:Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and for different States or different parts thereof.
1.1.1976: Vide Notifin. No. S. O. 5418, dt. 17-12-1975 (except chapter III).Sections 10 and 11 shall come into force in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on 28.8.1976 and Sections 12, 14 and 15 shall come into force in the whole of India on 28.8.1976 vide Notification No. S. O. 3141, dated 20.8.1976.Sections 10 and 11 shall come into force in the State of Orissa on 22.12.1989 vide Notification No. S. O. 1067 (E), dt. 22.12.1989.Sections 10 and 11 shall come into force in the States of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat, Tamilnadu and Uttar Pradesh on 31.5.1980 vide Notification No. S. O. 374 (E), dt. 31.5.1980.Section 13 of the Act shall come into force in the State of Andhra Pradesh on 15.2.1985 vide Notification No. S. O. 110(E), dated 12.2.1985.
