Section 5 in Tamil Nadu Local Bodies (Election of Members to the District Planning Committee) Rules, 1999
5. District Election Officer.
- The District Collector shall be the District Election Officer who shall co-ordinate and supervise the preparation and publication of the voters list and also the conduct of election of members to the committee. He shall report the vacancies within a week to the State Election Commission. He shall also perform such other functions as may be entrusted to him by the State Election Commission.
