26. The thermometers to be maintained in efficient order.
- Each thermometer shall be maintained at all times during the period of employment in efficient working order, so as to give accurate indications and in particular:(a)The wick and the muslin covering of the wet-bulb shall be renewed once a week.(b)The reservoir shall be filled with water which shall be completely renewed once a day. The Chief Inspector may prescribe the use of distilled water or pure rain water in any particular mill or mills in certain localities.(c)No water shall be applied directly to the wick or covering during the period of employment.
