Section 2(1) in The Assam Muslim Marriages And Divorces Registration Act, 1935
(1)" Inspector General of Registration" and "Registrar " respectively mean the officers so designated and appointed under the Indian Registration Act, 1908 (Act XVI of 1908), or other law for the time being in force for the registration of documents.
