Section 2(a) in Tamil Nadu Essential Articles Control and Requisitioning Act, 1949
(a)"essential article" means any of the articles specified in the schedule to this Act and any other article which may be declared by the [State] [This word was substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government by notified order to be an essential article;
