(1)Every prisoner shall receive daily in the food supplied to him, such quantity of salt and other condiments as may be necessary to render the food wholesome and reasonably palatable or for the benefit of the health of the prisoners, and the daily scale of such condiments to be allowed, shall be specified in the scales of diet from time to time prescribed under these rules.
